"We will take the fight to the enemy" -W

I've borrowed this quote from Bush because it sums up the point of this post pretty well. I also love the spoof below on one of my favorite Norman Rockwell paintings (Norman Rockwell is just amazing by the way) from Project for the Old American Century:

Some of my friends have asked me why I started linking to conservative blogs here. I've decided to, in the words of our president "take the fight to the enemy." So, I've begun to spend much more of my energy commenting on these sites, as opposed to simply preaching to the choir on liberal sites. I also hope to draw some of them to my site, which has already happened a bit.

To those visitors from these sites, I say "Hello!" If you want to me to link to your site, let me know.

To those of you who fall on the left side of the spectrum, I encourage you to join me in this crusade. I've started posting on a couple of the sites I've linked to. A couple of them are a bit scary for me, so I'm building up my courage (I'm referring to the one's I've labeled "exceptionally insane".) But seriously, we're not changing any minds by talking to each other. We need to convert the non-believers.

Let's do some good.

Great pic, Jaded.

Think I'm going to leave the tour of conservative sites to you though. There are not just insane but downright offensive places I don't wanna go to out there... I'm with the "be kind to your blood pressure" strategy on this one, I think.

I understand completely checking the "other side" of the blogophere. Otherwise, you're just talking into an echo chamber. And I agree with redone about the picture - quite nice.

I am really interested in going to see Good Night and Good Luck, the film about Edward R. Murrow. I wonder (hope) if it will inspire some of our so-called journalists out there to eschew the sensational and spend more time with the investigative in true Morrow fashion. It should be good, at any rate - I don't know why, but your Rockwell pic made me think of that.

Cheers!

RedOne - i've seen the same amount of liberal blogs and websites that make me just as angry as you - such as israel was responsible for 9/11 (just love that one)...

Thanks for the link!

I had considered doing the same on my blog, but the places I wanted to send people, I deemed unworthy of my click-thru traffic so I gave up on the idea.

Ya know...I tried that. What basically happened was that a few of the nuttier ones made it their life's mission to dump on my blog day and night. I guess that's okay if you want to deal with them all the time. As for myself, I felt like my blog was no longer my own.

yes, there are plenty of immature folks out there, but i still think it's a worthwhile cause. what we really need to do is do this as a group, the bigger the better. people really can do good, and people really can change. i've even learned a couple of things by exploring the other end of the spectrum. at this point, however, i am avoiding some of the crazier folks out there.

Its difficult to read some of thier sites. Its almost humorous how perfectly Opposite they are from folks like us. Good idea tho. We dont need convinving, we are already on the right side of the fight. Good luck with the mission!

i still think it's worth it. it is difficult, but we need to do it. if the dems in congress and leaders across the nation would speak up and force the issue, we wouldn't be in this situation. we need the courage.

I recently came across a painting of Norman Rockwells'....done on felt. Have you ever heard of him using felt as a background for his paintings? It's the one intitled,"April Fools Girl".
